This page intends to acquaint everyone in the Club with the rules for Club Competitions
The rules
for Course Angling Matches will be based on the SFCA Competition
Rules This will also aid Club Members who may wish to compete in the
SFCA Competitions (i.e.. Open Matches and League Matches)
1. Any number of rods and poles can be set up, but only one can be
used at a time during a match
2. Only one hook is allowed on the terminal tackle
3 Keepnets can be positioned before the All-In and any weed in the immediate area can be removed if causing an obstruction
4 Competitors can plumb the depth before the All-In
5 Ground bait can be made up but not thrown into the swim before the All-In
6 No peg can be moved without the consent of a committee member
7 Seat boxes and or platforms must be positioned within one meter of the bank
8 The fishing limits of a peg are as
follows
a) On a Stillwater your peg limit is a point midway between
adjacent pegs
b) On a flowing river your peg limit is from a point straight in
front of your peg, down to the next peg downstream
9 Dead fish bait, artificial flies and
lures cannot be used
10 All species of fish except Pike,
Sticklebacks. Minnows, Game fish and Shellfish count
11 No bait or ground bait can be passed
to competitors or retrieved from cars after the All-In
12 Competitors can leave their pegs
only to answer the call of nature
13 Only fish fairly caught by rod or
pole will count
14 A fish can be landed up to fifteen
minutes after the All-Out provided it as hooked
before the All-Out
15 A competitor will not be weighed-in
until all litter is cleared from the peg.
16. Fish must be returned to the
water alive after the weigh-in
The duration of matches will be five hours long and the Peg Draw
shall be by a fair draw from a bag
Competitors cannot move or swap pegs, (although in Club Matches
consideration shall be given to Juniors who require adult/parental
supervision and competitors with a disability on the grounds of
access and safety).
All litter and discarded line shall be removed from
the peg. (i.e. tidy it up and put in the bin).
Permits if required must be obtained before fishing
(unless free water or bankside collection).
